THE MAIN EVENT OF PHUKET FANTASEA SHOW
Unfortunately, cameras are not allowed inside the theater but guest begin going through security by 20:30 when it opens. They take very seriously that people cannot bring into the theater anything that can create an image including video cameras, digital cameras, and even camera phones and if you bring any of these things, you will have to check them in with security.
Once the check in process is complete and you enter the theater, you can still have your picture taken, for a fee with young tigers, costumed staff and baby elephants. The show begins at 21:00 in the grandest of styles with all parts of the huge stage as well as the other parts of the theater like the aisles, ceiling and even the audience being used.
All your senses will be treated to effects like lasers, smoke, soaring people, explosions and rain and you will get insights into the Thai culture by watching the dances from the different regions, the amazing wardrobe and shadow puppets. It is easy to believe how elephants can be trained and become actors but this show also has roosters, doves and goats in supporting roles.
Even though the story is not easy to follow, it does not seem to matter as the funny, loud moments are interrupted by beautiful, and quiet interludes to convey the emotion just perfect. By the end of the show, you have no idea what the storyline was about and you do not care because the show was so amazing and beautiful that both young and old alike love it.
