Enjoy Christmas in Berlin With Fun Filled Activities
Christmas is fast approaching and you would be busy making plans to celebrate your Christmas at some exotic locations. You would be having an endless list of options to choose from. But before opting for your preferred destinations, read this article, as I want to share some of my memorable experiences which I had when I celebrated last year Christmas in Berlin. My new year’s bash at the unified German capital was filled with lots of fulfilled activity. I found my Christmas celebrations worth for the money spent.
Christmas markets
Berlin is renowned for its Christmas markets. I took a trip to some of its popular markets and had great fun. I am sure you would also have some great time when you visit Berlin for the forthcoming Christmas.
Berliner Weihnachtszeit
Situated close to Rathaus and the Alexanderplatz, the Berliner Weihnachtszeit market is opened for visitors from 25th of November of 29th December. It provides you an assortment of Christmas stands selling all things ranging from the wooden adornments to the gingerbread cookies. You can also test a few spirits and procure from Black Forest’s Fitzke distillery.
There also several festive treat such as mulled wine and roasted chestnuts. The high ferries wheel of 50 meters height stands tall above the Christmas market and offers you a bird’s eye view of the Christmas in Berlin celebrations. Apart from all these festivities you can also find an ice skating rink constructed surrounding the Neptune foundation. You can also take your kids for a pony ride and make them get entertained.
Gendarmenmarkt
Situated amid the Fransözichen dome and Deutschen, the Gendarmenmarkt is opened to the public everyday from 25th of November to 31st of December. Gendarmenmarkt is regarded as one of Berlin’s most excellent markets. In my view it is also the colorful and attractive market. You will find the entire market packed with stands selling from Christmas ornaments to an assortment of cookery delights. You can find at the market’s center, beneath a large statue an erected stage where the singers, fire jugglers, and an assortment of other entertainer keep the spectators amused.
Winterwelt am Potsdamer Platz
This is another popular Christian market. It is situated amid the Potsdamer Platz’s huge structures. Millions of visitors flock this market for every Christmas. Rodelbahn is a major attract in this Christian market. On a tire’s top you can glide down a huge snowy mountain. Some of the amusement activities which you can indulge and get entertained are ice-skating, Eisstockschießen game, etc. Also play the Eisstockschießen game which is as a mixture of curling & bowling.
Some of the other famous Christmas markets which you can visit during your Christmas in Berlin visit are Weihnachtsmarkt am Gedachtniskirche, Wintertraum am Alexa, etc.
Places where you can delicious foods
There are a good number of places in Berlin, that serves delicious foods to treat your taste buds. At Pauly Saal, you can taste the sun choke chips, artichoke soup, mouthwatering baguettes, etc. Mogg & Melzer resturent provides you with yummy pastrami sandwich. This sandwich prepared from a blend of rye bread, fresh pastrami and coarse mustard. Some of the other food joints where you can taste some appetizing foods are Engelbecken , Literaturhaus, etc
Affordable accommodations
You can find a good number of quality and reasonably priced accommodations at the city’s main areas like Literaturhaus and in the vicinity of major shopping areas.
