Sydney Christmas 2021 should be one of the most exciting events of the city. Every year the famous family Christmas concerts are held with a massive night of music and entertainment at Martin Place, Hyde Park, Rushcutters Bay, Rosebery, Alexandria and Surry Hills. There are many events. activities and celebrations in Sydney over Christmas.
The city and the surrounding villages will be lit up with decorations and projections, with Sydney’s favorite choirs singing in the City Centre. Martin Place will also be showcasing the enormous sparkling Christmas tree and the Sydney Town Hall will light up with the Christmas festivity in a kaleidoscope of color. Each night Sydney Town Hall will transform into a mass of festive color as light projections move about the glorious old building. Santa Festivals
Santa Fest – Darling Harbor – from 24th November to Christmas Eve
There will be even more Santas about taking over the waters of Darling Harbour and elevated above the ground on stilts. Never have Santas have been in such demand. There will be a Santa shortage at this rate.
Santa Fest Water Spectacular – Cockle Bay Wharf on 24th November, from 6: 30 PM
The Santa Fest Water Spectacular includes a Santa parade, the arrival of the boss Santa on a water sleigh (that’s a vintage 1930s boat) a coloring-in competition, fireworks and Santa’s lighting of the Christmas tree outside the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Center.
Big Santa Hunt
Hunt down the nine Santas around Darling Harbor, get a letter from each that spells out a code word and you could win an early Christmas present.
Annual Variety Santa Fun Run on 25th November from 7:00 AM
It’s hard work being a Santa, watch the Santa’s raise their fitness levels during the Annual Variety Santa Fun Run.
Sydney Christmas Music And Fireworks
Christmas Fireworks at Cockle Bay – Every Saturday, 9pm from Saturday 24th November to Saturday 22nd December plus Christmas Eve
There will be a big finale of fireworks on Christmas Eve to end Santa Fest and welcome in Christmas Day. Preceding the loud bangs and flashes of light, will be carols near the massive Xmas Tree surrounded by smiling faces.
Children’s Concert and Tree Lighting at Martin Place – 6:00 PM – 8:30PM on 29th November
This years Children’s Concert includes Paulini, Teddy Rock, Play School favorites Big Ted, Little Ted, Jemima, Humpty and Fergus, Lah Lah’s BIG Live Band, the Sydney Children’s Choir and Luke Jacobz from The X-Factor will MC.
Village Christmas Concerts
Four village concerts in Rushcutters Bay, Rosebery, Alexandria and Surry Hills, hosted by Luke Jacobz, featuring carols, kids’ entertainment, Santa and more.
Christmas Projections – Sydney Town Hall
Watch spectacular projections light up the facade of this iconic Sydney building.
The day after Christmas – on Boxing Day December 26- the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race will start. The race will then finish in Tasmania to welcome New Years Eve .
