Burj Khalifa
You can’t imagine a better view of Dubai’s most awe-inspiring New Year’s Eve celebration than from the very footsteps of Burj Khalifa. Thousands gather along the waterfront of the Dubai Fountain to catch the spectacular light and water show at midnight, so make sure to get a head start. People generally start arriving as early as 6pm to avoid traffic and grab a top spot. Even better, book a table at a popular restaurant lining the waterfront by The Dubai Mall to guarantee yourself a good seat. Just make sure to plan ahead as roads and access to the Downtown area will be restricted on the night for crowd control.
Souk Al Bahar
Just across the bridge from The Dubai Mall is Souk Al Bahar, an upscale dining and lifestyle destination. Many restaurants here, such as Karma Kafé and Serafina, boast clear views of the Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Fountain. Again, book ahead so you don’t have to rush to find a seat with the whole family. Free access; advanced booking required at restaurants.

This is an open-air promenade. You can see the 2020 New Year’s Eve Fireworks from here. Along with a range of dining destinations where you can book a table, this is the best place to be for an alternative and uninterrupted view of the Downtown fireworks. Free access Image Credit: Supplied
Atlantis, The Palm
Is there a better place to celebrate in Dubai? Book yourself into the Atlantis resort for a New Year’s Eve to remember with the Royal Gala Dinner under the stars, or join in other themed festivities by reserving a table at one of the resort’s fantastic restaurants and lounges.
Palm Jumeirah Boardwalk
The 11km boardwalk along the crescent of the Palm Jumeirah is the place to be on the Palm this NYE. Stretching all the way from the One&Only, The Palm to the other end, the walkway offers numerous spots for visitors to watch the fireworks display at Atlantis. If you head to the Rixos-end of the crescent, you’ll be able to spy the Burj Khalifa celebrations too. Bear in mind that access to the Palm is typically restricted to control traffic on NYE, so plan and arrive accordingly. Free access
The Pointe
The Pointe is located across the bay from Atlantis, The Palm. This entertainment and retail destination at the tip of Palm Jumeirah has more than 80 shops, restaurants and attractions to explore while you wait for the big event.
