Chinatown in Honolulu is one of the oldest Chinatowns in any exotic city. People gather in the Chinatown and celebrate the occasion with decorating the entire town with red and gold colored papers and Chinese traditional lanterns. Many hangings made up of red color can be observed on the walls, doors, windows and roofs of hall. Somewhere a large word “fu” can be observed written on the doors. All of this is a good luck gesture.

People wear red clothes and gift each other money in red envelopes. The best part of celebrations is the Chinese annual parade which features lion dances, dragon dances, firecrackers, food, Chinese animal of year, musical performances, Chinese lanterns and kung fu show.

Bakkwa, Nian Go, Pecking Duck and tikoy are some of the Chinese traditional dishes which can be found as menu in any restaurant of the city. Restaurants in Chinatown offer wide range of Chinese cuisines which water ones mouths. Many restaurants offer oranges and if you are the one to catch an orange from lion than all the luck comes to you.
