2014 Sochi Winter Olympics opening ceremony took place on 7 February

As reported by Wikipedia, the opening ceremony of Winter Olympic Games 2014 took place  on the 7th February 2014 at the Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi, Russia.

Sochi Winter Olympics began at 20:14 Moscow Time (UTC+4) and finished at 23:02 Moscow Time (UTC+4). The event was the first Winter Olympics and first Olympic Games opening ceremony under the IOC presidency of Thomas Bach.

The Opening Ceremony of the Winter Olympics concluded in Sochi, Russia with a vivid display of fireworks and two legendary Russian ex-Olympians lighting the cauldron.
